Which Dodge Journey Has A Sunroof?

Sunroofs and moonroofs in cars are an extremely popular amenity.  Many drivers enjoy the atmosphere they bring to the vehicle, as well as the added benefits.  For example, a sunroof may add some extra light into the cabin during the drearier winter days, helping drivers perk up.  Or, in the summer, opening the sunroof may bring extra air into the cabin to help cool off the vehicle and the passengers inside.

The Journey was Dodge's crossover SUV model, in production from 2009 to 2020.  However, Dodge discontinued it in 2020, leaving the Durango as its only currently available SUV.  This SUV was in production during a time when sunroofs were popular, so it makes sense that the Journey came with a sunroof on select trims.  Which ones offered a sunroof?  Let's find out.

2020 Dodge Journey

The final year of the Journey condensed its trim levels into just two options - the SE Value or Crossroad.  The three-row SUV seats up to seven individuals at once.  During this year, Dodge made the Popular Equipment Group package optional.  This package includes auto climate control, SiriusXM, a power-adjustable driver's seat, heated front seats, navigation, and more.  Rear park assist, on the other hand, became standard.

In 2020, only the Crossroad offered a sunroof option.

2019 Dodge Journey

Four trims turned to three in 2019: the SE, Crossroad, and GT.  The SE gained more standard features this year.  These include fog lights, tri-zone climate control, heated side mirrors, and LED rear-lights.  The V6 engine also became available in these lower trims, and drivers had a choice between a front-wheel or all-wheel drivetrain.  All of these upgrades came at a lower starting price point than the year before.

The Journey offered a sunroof on the Crossroad and GT trims.

2018 Dodge Journey

In 2018, the Journey offered four trim levels.  These include the SE, SXT, Crossroad, and GT.  Third row seating became standard on the SUV as well.  The Blacktop Package - which adds an all-black interior and exterior - is an offer on the SE trim.  During this year, the Journey can tow up to 2,500 pounds.

2017 Dodge Journey

The GT replaced the R/T in 2017 as the top trim level.  Meanwhile, the Crossroad trim received a new satin-carbon wheel finish, and two new paint colors were added as options.  The 2017 Journey offers an easy to use infotainment system, and a comfortable ride for all passengers.  The Department of Transportation gave the 2017 Journey four out of five stars for safety.

2016 Dodge Journey

Dodge dropped the base AVP trim as an option in 2016.  They also reduced the starting prices of the SE, SXT, and Crossroad trims.  The Journey offers versatile seating and cargo space, making it an excellent choice for those who frequently need to change the arrangement of their vehicle.  The Crossroad Plus trim also offers leather seating and an 8.4-inch display.

In 2016, a sunroof option was offered on the Crossroad, Crossroad Plus, and R/T trims.

2015 Dodge Journey

2015 brought only minor changes to the Dodge Journey.  Two new paint colors are added as options to choose from.  Additionally, the Journey offers five years of free service for SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link on the 2015 model.  Drivers may choose from a four cylinder or a six cylinder engine, and have the option of sizing up to a three-row vehicle.

The 2015 Journey offered a sunroof on the SXT, Crossroad, Limited, and R/T trims.

2014 Dodge Journey

The Limited trim joined the Journey lineup.  New option packages also became available to make the vehicle more attractive to drivers, along with its already upscale interior.  SiriusXM radio is also available on all trims.

2013 Dodge Journey

The 2013 Dodge Journey added more standard features to the vehicle without raising the price.  In fact, the R/T trim actually dropped in price.  The Crew trim received luxurious leather seating, heated steering, and heated front seats as its new standard without raising the price at all.  The AVP and SE trims, on the other hand, received a new set of 17-inch wheels.

2012 Dodge Journey

The 2012 Dodge Journey has five trim levels - SE-AVP, SE, SXT, Crew, and R/T.  The SE-AVP was actually the most affordable SUV of its size in America for the year.  The Crew and R/T trims offered a rear DVD package, perfect for children with families.

2011 Dodge Journey

The Journey made efforts to improve upon itself in 2011.  It refreshed its interior and refined its suspension and steering.  The trim names even changed - Express, Mainstreet, R/T, Crew, and LUX.  The Journey introduced a new 283 horsepower V6 engine, and also added new communication and connectivity features to the vehicle.

2010 Dodge Journey

In 2010, the versatile Journey added a fuel-saving ECO light to its instrument cluster.  The V6 engine also improved its fuel economy.  All models received four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes as well.  The Journey actually provides more storage space than both the Ford Escape and Chevy Equinox, making it a great choice for large families.

2009 Dodge Journey

In its debut year, the Dodge Journey provided good fuel economy and a roomy cabin.  Dodge had never made a crossover SUV before, and they made sure to stock the vehicle full of features for drivers of all kinds.  The Journey is available with five or seven passenger seating, and also offers either cloth or leather seats.
